Society is divided into those who must wear the patches of corporations, and the elite celebrities and politicians who keep their autonomy.

When Rick, a citizen with a patch, comes to the Mayor's office with the temerity to ask a question, it's more difficult to get an audience with her than he thought--and when he finds himself face-to-face with the architect of the whole patch system, the trouble really begins.
