Royal Ballet and Opera, based in Covent Garden, central London, is home to the Royal Opera, the Royal Ballet, and the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House. A registered charity with national reach, our world-class performances and trailblazing learning and participation programmes enrich people’s lives with ballet and opera.
We want every visitor to know who we are, what we do, and how they can enjoy our performances, events, tours, exhibitions, shop, café, restaurants and more! You can lead the conversation so that every visitor feels welcomed and included, no matter their background.
What you will be doing
- Welcome and greet visitors
- Share information and answer questions
- Accompany tour groups to ensure they remain together
- Help to manage queues and busy spaces
- Assist staff in keeping everyone safe
- Escalate problems or complaints to staff
- Use radio to communicate with staff and volunteer team
The skills you need
- Friendly and enthusiastic
- Reliable and punctual
- A team player
- Proactive and able to follow instructions
- Interested to learn about ballet, opera, and the Royal Opera House
- Able to keep calm during busy times
- Able to stay motivated during quieter times
- Confident communicating in English
- Enjoy meeting new people and starting conversations
