Position: Touring Head of Audio / Assistant Carpenter – Bluey’s Big Play
Contract Dates: November 20, 2026 – June 14, 2027

Compensation: $1,400 per week + $60/day per diem

Location: U.S. National Tour
Tour Style: approx. 40% sleeper bus / 60% hotel accommodations

The Touring Head of Audio / Assistant Carpenter is responsible for overseeing all sound elements of the production, whilst assisting the Head Carpenter with the mechanical and staging elements of the production. This role ensures the smooth sound operation of the show both in rehearsal and performance, maintaining the integrity of the production while supporting the creative and technical teams.

The tour travels with a QLab rack (SM Desk) that triggers all of the playback and timecode and their own coms setup (Green-Go system)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Assist the touring crew with the load-in and load-out process, including truck loading/unloading, stage setup, and pack-down.

· Assisting the Head Carp and Swing in building/prepping scenic elements during load-in

· Setting up Coms and tying the SM Desk into house systems

· Running timecode to LX racks

· Communicate effectively with all departments to ensure technical and logistical consistency across venues.

· Assisting the Head Carp and Swing in striking scenic elements and lining up the truck pack during load-out

· Running an offstage crew track during performance (mixing is done by in-house audio)

SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES

• Strong knowledge of all sound elements required for touring production
• Knowledge of stage mechanics, and production logistics.
• Excellent communication, and organizational skills.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary and fast-paced environment.
• High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining production standards.
• Ability to problem-solve under pressure and adapt to changing conditions.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience as a Head of Audio or similar role on theatrical productions.
• Proficiency in QLab and sound maintenance.
• Knowledge of WHS (Work Health and Safety) standards in a theatrical environment.
• Knowledge and experience of the working practices of a touring production
