EAR OUT PLAYHOUSE — CLASS

Ear Out Playhouse is seeking a Production Designer for CLASS, the inaugural production of a newly founded theater company dedicated to intimate, actor-driven work in extraordinary spaces.

This is an opportunity to get in on the ground floor of something very exciting.

CLASS, a new play by Charles Evered, directed by Jeffrey Meek, will be presented upstairs at the historic Ear Inn, one of New York City’s oldest surviving buildings. The upstairs space is being opened to the public for the first time and has never before hosted a play.

We’re looking for a designer excited to create within a truly singular, historic environment — and to help establish the visual identity of a new theater company from its very first production.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Production Designer will collaborate closely with the director and creative team to create the visual world of CLASS, working with the architecture, history, and intimate character of the Ear Inn.

Ideal candidate:

• Theater design or production design experience
• Strong visual instincts and attention to detail
• Comfortable working in unconventional spaces
• Collaborative, resourceful, and excited by the opportunity to build something new
