Who is that girl?

She sort of slips in and out of class like she's somewhere else.

Her name is Emma, and beneath that shell, she's a gifted poet with an unbelievable imagination.

It's just that when times are rough, she needs her personable, imaginary friends to help her get through them.

But things change for her as a caring teacher reaches out to the withdrawn, mysterious girl, and her friends try to convince her that it's time to join reality.

It's finally her teacher's compassion that helps to convince Emma.

The playwright does wondrous work in showing this girl's intimate world and how she must overcome the fierce obstacle of shyness to face reality.

Told with imaginative theatricality and honest style that belies the playwright's age.
