Stage Manager
Weekly Paid
The successful candidate will work with the Company Manager and Deputy Stage Manager to learn and perform stage plots and call the show as a book cover when required. They will be involved in supervising show crew and/or deps including the in-house technical team and perform a pivotal role in the smooth running of the show. Outside of show calls, they will maintain show cue sheets and paperwork in collaboration with the Deputy Stage Manager, oversee maintenance calls and attend understudy rehearsals as required.
Candidates must be prepared to undertake physically demanding tasks, and have a high level of self-awareness, empathy, integrity and confidentiality. They should be detail orientated, possess strong communication and organisational skills, and have the ability to lead and manage a team. Most importantly, they must have a positive attitude and sense of humour, with a strong aptitude for pastoral care. They must have previous experience calling on a musical and running stage plots.

Job Description:
- Directly manage the Stage Management team and the running of all performances of the production.
- Work collaboratively with all other departments, including the theatre technical team, to ensure the smooth running of the production.
- Manage and schedule the Stage Management department
- Learn the book and cover as necessary
- Deputise for the CM where necessary
- Any other reasonable duty that would normally fall within the remit of a SM based on industry norms and practice
Essential Skills:
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written with excellent attention to detail
- Experience working with creative teams and ability to manage expectations
- Proactive and energetic with the ability to work with commitment and dedication to find solutions
- Discretion and sensitivity when dealing with confidential information
- Strong all round technical background.
- Awareness of current Health & Safety legislation.
- Comfortable working at height
- Experience of managing people and a department
- Previous West End experience
