Synopsis

Hedda Rankin, wife of a zoo official, returns home from a spell in prison to find her husband has not been faithful, her daughter will not marry the man she loves and her son, Andrew, has just returned from the continent with a Greek girl who cannot speak English.

Hedda sets out to bring her household to its senses, but it is her husband who eventually puts things right while she takes the credit for it.
