Synopsis

Tess's mother dies just before they are supposed to leave for the ancient city-state of Mastavia to retrieve a package left for them by Tess's estranged father.

Unwilling to give up the mission, Tess posts an ad online for a traveling companion with her mother's exact name, and meets a new Laura, a mysterious woman eager to escape her life.

This unlikely duo sets off on a journey to this strange city of doubles, mystifying bureaucracy, ancient graves, and a hidden world neither of them expected to encounter.
