Danger From The Sky
George Ressieb
As in Orwells' 1984, there are chilling science fiction aspects to this unusual play.
The time is the future with gigantic cities and an artificial existence.
When a suspicious woman finds a stranger has with him a wilted rose, she's terrified, for there have been no roses nor any green thing on earth for decades!
In a climactic scene, it's revealed that the stranger is a time-traveler from our time, having gone forward in the hope of discovering a cure for his daughter stricken by an incurable illness.
The computer-available records prove that the stranger died in his own time and so he must have returned.
Along with the moving emotional scene, there's also a fascinating intellectual paradox.
