Synopsis

The first of a three-play cycle exploring the U.S./Mexico drug wars, this chilling yet darkly humorous drama was inspired by the “Bravest Woman in Mexico.”

When no one else will accept the position, a 22-year-old woman volunteers the local police chief, who was recently beheaded.

Her bold decision sets off a chain of reactions in her husband, the Narcos, and perhaps the entire country of Mexico.

Press Reviews

"An incredibly moving play that successfully brings the fear, loss and tragedy that has happened so far away from New York City quite literally to the main stage."

— Exeunt Magazine

"In so go the ghosts of méxico, while [Olmos’] talent with language still resonates and the mixing of realities prevails, his sense of timing becomes yet another feather in his hat. The humor in so go the ghosts… is timed to perfection. It lightens up the heaviness of the atmosphere and flows quite effortlessly through the absurdity of the situation at hand."

— Theatre Jones
