The "Spirits" are the deceased wives of Broadway producer Steven Roland, a firm believer in the occult who employs a live in medium, a sardonic man Friday and a secretary who has been in love with him through two marriages and twelve productions.
When it is suggested that Pam pretend to be the spirits, she is shocked.
