The comedy for every high school girl who has had to play the "mother role" when she really wanted to play the lead.
A performance of "Petunias" - a blatantly sentimental high school play - is in progress, but things go very wrong when the actress playing the mother (she always plays the mother) decides she wants things to work out her way for a change.
She takes control of the "lead" and the other actors are forced to improvise to save the play.
She changes lines, the plot, and even kills off her own character so she can make a play for her daughter's boyfriend!
Character

Kimberly a high school girl, young, lovely, intense.
Jason a college student, Kimberly's boy friend.
Mother the name says it all, doesn't it?... except she's also Lisa and Carlotta .
I Hate Mothers is a American comedy play written by James Rayfield and published by Samuel French (1983).
