Synopsis

The condition of the Blake family is bad: Father is an unsuccessful lawyer; Mother thinks she is sick; Lucy, their daughter, is on the point of eloping; and Tom, her brother, has contemplated suicide.

Into this circle comes Gypsy Jim, who manages to make them all think there is something supernatural about him, leaving them all in a happy mood.

In truth, Gypsy Jim is a millionaire who has played an agreeable trick and brought joy to those who needed it most.
