A puzzled Mr. Smith is seeking an answer to his question: "What is the church?" This satirical presentation -- often in rhythm and rhyme -- of the various groups within a typical church points out some of the faults to be found in the current ecclesiastical scene and raises some pertinent questions.

By humorously portraying what a church should not be, we gain insight into what a dedicated church should be.
