Synopsis

A fantasy satire on campus unrest, including student dissidence and faculty unworldliness, in which the girls of a venerable prep-school rebel and take over, driving the headmistress to flee into hiding in a cave among the hills.

A wild regime is instituted, the curriculum revised fo include such courses as shoplifting and living off the land (taught by a questionable female character, discovered orating on the Boston Common).

The climax assumes sinister proportions when Dagmar, a student with remarkable individualistic traits, is found aiding the discredited administration and tried by a kangaroo court of her peers.

Despite a crackpot defense, provided by the ancient Episcopalian Bishop of Ecuador, Dagmar is condemned to be executed in a ritual murder.
