Barnhouse Effect, The
Kurt Vonnegut Jr
In story theatre style this play tells of the fateful meeting between Dwayne Hoover, Pontiac dealer, and Kilgore Trout, Vonnegut's alter ego, in Midland City, where Dwayne bites off Trout's finger.
Dwayne has gone crazy because of bad bhemicals in his brain, and because he read one of Trout's novels (recommended to him by eccentric millionaire Elliot Rosewater), which has convinced him that everyone is a robot except him.
This adaptation, which is perfect for reader's theatre, perfectly preserves the anarchic humor of the original and provides a fine directing and acting challenge.
Breakfast of Champions is a comedy play written by Kurt Vonnegut Jr and published by Samuel French .
