| LEIGH Twenty-two years old. The typical teen movie protagonist. Edgy, witty, and depressed. After the death of her son, she is unable to think of anything else, ignoring all other parts of her life, including Bryan. |
| AMELIE Young, naive girl who has grown up in a small town in France. She is curious, passionate, and unafraid to speak her mind. |
| BRYAN Twenty-two years old. Leigh’s fiancé and adoptive father of her son. As the one to watch their son die, he finds himself unable to think about the loss at all. |
| ADULT AMELIE Narrator. She is middle-aged and helps connect the story to present day. Also plays: |
| MOM Confused by what is happening. She needs to take action. She can’t imagine doing nothing. |
