The Return of Halley's Comet
Andrea Green
A rollicking parody of a timeless classic, Alienne transports Hans Christian Andersen’s The Little Mermaid into the wacky world of outer space.
The heroine, Alienne, is a spunky Martian teenager who boldly opposes the prevailing Martian attitude that human feelings and failings are signs of weakness.
In fact, she secretly longs to be an Earthling herself and soon gets her wish, but only after promising her soul to the evil space witch, Earthsula.
Alienne’s quirky musical journey ultimately teaches all the space creatures (and their human audience) a valuable lesson about tolerance, empathy, and the merits of learning from one’s mistakes.
Featuring seven principal roles and five lead narrators, Alienne offers plenty of opportunity for actors of all abilities.
With plenty of audience participation and goofy humor, this spaced-out adventure is ideal for young audiences and their families.
"An interactive musical for all ages… A fantastic performance that will have you singing and dancing along… there’s nothing more you could ask for from Alienne."
— NY Theatre Now
"So engaging, energetic and entrancing that the audience couldn’t contain their cheers of approval… Jim Colleran’s music and lyrics were clever and sprightly… really made you feel out of this world!"
