John McNamara began his career in playwriting before developing an illustrious career in television. McNamara wrote the lighthearted coming-of-age comedy PRESENT TENSE, published by Dramatists Play Service, Inc. while he was attending college. McNamara’s second play, PERSONAL EFFECTS, follows in the comedic footsteps of his earlier work. In the early 1990s McNamara began his television career writing for “The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr.” Finding success, he went on to write for “Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman.” After three triumphant years with “Lois and Clark,” McNamara and writing partner David Greenwalt created the corporate drama “Profit.” In 2000 John revived “The Fugitive,” a show from his childhood. He also wrote for the ABC drama “Eyes.”
