Joe Roland has been living and working in New York City for over fifteen years. His play ON THE LINE was produced at the Cherry Lane Theater by Mike Nichols, Jill Furman, and Boyett Ostar Productions in association with Rachel Neuburger. He is a graduate of the New Actors Workshop, where he studied with George Morrison, Mike Nichols, and Paul Sills. Joe is a founding member of the Water Theater Company and has appeared in the company’s productions of STILL/WAITING FOR LEFTY, PASSENGERS, and THE DEATH OF IVAN ILLYICH. He also wrote for and performed in PILGRIMS, adapted from the short stories of Elizabeth Gilbert; his short play THE MEXICAN was produced by the company, along with works by Artistic Director Shira Piven under the collective title of BALEVILLE AND OTHER UNKNOWNS.
