Frank W. Wicks

Frank W. Wicks has enjoyed a ful?lling and varied theater career for almost sixty years, beginning with a production of “The Happiest Millionaire” in 1958, acting with Warren Beatty. Right after graduation from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts he launched into the New York theater scene acting, directing, designing, stage managing, and producing more than fifteen Off-Broadway productions and directing and managing with the New York City Opera Company. He is a founding member of New Haven’s Long Wharf Theatre, directed for the Actors Theatre of Louisville, toured the world managing The Paul Taylor Dance Company, helicoptered into the Woodstock Festival managing Ravi Shankar, directed a production of Arthur Miller's “The Crucible” in Rostov-on-Don, Russia, and managed the Broadway tryout of Saul Bellow's play, “Under the Weather,” starring Shelley Winters. He settled in Maine where he started his own theater company to develop and produce new plays. His award-winning play, “Soldier, Come Home,” premiered in Brunswick, Maine in 2002, has been produced all over the country, and is now celebrating its 100th performance.
