Ernest Pendrell was a British playwright who enjoyed many careers – as a newspaper reporter, editor, teacher, machinist, and executive – before settling into writing. He is best known for SEVEN TIMES MONDAY, which was first presented at the Westport County Playhouse in 1957 under the title WITH RESPECT FOR JOEY. Other popular plays by Pendrell include HOW THE RICH LIVE AND WHOM TO TAX, THE OTHER IMAGE, and ISAAC IN AMERICA. As a screenwriter, he penned the television movies “Obsession” and “Man in the Corner,” among others.
