Alan Gelb is author of the play MOMBO, published by Dramatists Play Service, Inc. In a very varied writing career, Alan Gelb has published a number of novels, including “Playgrounds” (G.P. Putnam’s Sons), “Columbus Avenue” (St. Martin’s Press), and “The Janissary” (Rawson, Wade). He is also the author of “Most Likely to Succeed” (E.P. Dutton), a nonfiction account of a multiple murder in Chatham, New York, where Gelb lives. He has worked in television, both as a development executive and as a staff writer in daytime drama. His articles have appeared in "The New York Times Magazine," "Parents Magazine," and on www.beliefnet.com. Three of his plays have been featured in ten-minute play festivals produced at Stageworks, a theater company in Hudson, New York. MOMBO — an outgrowth of one of these plays — is his first full-length work for theater
