Kenny Wax Productions is looking for a motivated Sound No. 2 to join the touring production of SIX The Musical. The successful candidate will have relevant and transferrable experience as Sound No. 2/Mix Cover or equivalent on similar productions, and must have the right to live and work in the UK.

SIX the Musical has sound design by Paul Gatehouse. It tours a Digico SD10T, comprehensive D&B audiotechnik system with a Sony radio microphone system and Shure in-ear monitors.

Typical show schedule (subject to change: performances are 6 days per week either Monday – Saturday or Tuesday – Sunday depending on each venue’s schedule
Salary: £900 per playing week, plus Touring Allowance and Travel Payments
Responsible To: Sound No. 1, General Manager

Job Description:

Looking after the digital wireless systems used for the running of the show;
Fitting and maintaining custom in-ear monitors;
Learning to mix the show for certain performances and be able to deputise for the Sound No. 1 as necessary;
To maintain the Production as instructed and dictated by the creative team and the Sound No. 1;
Working alongside your team, other technical departments, stage management, the acting company and creative team members to ensure the efficient flow of information as necessary for the smooth running of the show;
Attending all rehearsals, show calls, maintenance calls, get-ins, fit-ups and get-outs as required by the Company Stage Manager, the Sound No. 1 or the Sound Designer, including emergency calls in the event of equipment failure or other incident, particularly if there is a risk of the cancellation of a performance;
Assisting the Sound No. 1 with compiling and keeping updated show paperwork, both soft and hard copy;
Working in accordance with the Producer’s Health and Safety policy, which may include any training deemed necessary;
Complying at all times with the rules and regulations in force at the venues under the control of the Production;
Having a practical understanding of the Producer’s employment policies and demonstrating a willingness to comply with these policies;
Any other duties as may be reasonably required in the course of your duties or as instructed by the Sound Designer, Company Manager, Sound No. 1, Production Manager, General Manager or Producers from time to time.

Person Specification:

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written with excellent attention to detail;
Experience working with technology especially digital radio microphones and in-ear monitoring systems.
A proactive and flexible attitude;
Previous experience of UK Touring;
Previous experience of working as part of a team;
The ability to work well with actors and creative team;
The ability to work under pressure and effectively prioritise;
Awareness of current health & safety legislation;
Strong working knowledge of UK Theatre & SOLT Equity and BECTU agreements.
