The Production Assistant is responsible for supporting the wider Runaway team both on productions and with general office management, working closely with the General Management team on active productions and the Producing team on the development of shows and diary co-ordination.
Job Description
Runaway Entertainment is seeking a highly organised and proactive Production Assistant to support its producing, general management, and production teams across a portfolio of theatre productions. Based in London's West End, this full-time role combines office administration with hands-on production support, ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of both the office and active shows.
The Production Assistant acts as a key point of coordination, managing communications, diaries, meetings, and general office operations, while also assisting with production logistics such as travel booking, visa arrangements, rehearsal support, and event coordination. The role includes maintaining records, supporting press and media events, administering ticketing and guest lists, and helping deliver production schedules and updates.
This position requires excellent organisational, communication, and administrative skills, alongside strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities. The ideal candidate must have experience in a theatre production environment, proficiency in tools such as Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Mailchimp, and design platforms, and a collaborative, positive approach to working within a fast-paced creative team.
Job Requirements
The ideal candidate must have prior experience in a theatre production office, with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. They should be highly detail-oriented, with excellent written and verbal communication skills, and demonstrate professionalism, discretion, and a collaborative attitude. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Word and Excel), Google Workspace, Mailchimp, and design tools such as Canva or InDesign is essential. A solid understanding of production processes, strong problem-solving abilities, and a proactive, adaptable approach are key, along with the confidence to liaise with internal teams, creatives, and external partners in a fast-paced, creative setting.
Job Responsibilities

This includes managing day-to-day administrative tasks such as coordinating meetings, maintaining filing systems, handling communications, and ensuring the office environment is well organised and welcoming. On the production side, the role involves assisting with logistics including booking travel and accommodation, arranging visas and work permits, preparing schedules and rehearsal materials, and supporting pre-production activity. The Production Assistant also helps coordinate press and media events, manage ticketing and guest lists, maintain production records, and provide on-the-ground support during rehearsals, technical periods, and live performances, ensuring clear communication across teams and timely delivery of key information.
