Dionne - Hair The Musical

The Tivoli Players present a production of the classic American Tribal Love-Rock Musical HAIR, keeping true to the original 60s spirit while adding in a punk-rock-ish flair and contemporary use of visuals and intent. Using vibrant modern-day renditions of some of the familiar tokens of the times: tie-dye, psychedelic projections, outrageous hair, while adding in a present-day flair. We are now firmly planted in The Aquarian Age, a 2200-year cycle which promotes environmental protection, community support, unique expressions of love and personality, scientific and technological advancement and the idea that we must look out for the world as a whole, not just for personal progress. Rehearsal is 12-6 pm on T, W, Th till August 10. Then Monday is added to the mix. The final 2 weeks of rehearsal (tech week) will be full-time.

Show runs 9/3 - 9/20. The Woodstock Community Theater. During the run all cast will have Monday and Tuesday off. A stipend is offered ranging from $500-1000 depending on the role and the actor's location. A performer local to the area or able to commute is preferred.

Famously, there is a nude scene in Hair, but it is not required that you be naked to participate. It is a matter of choice. Do Note: There is a lot of physical contact amidst The Hippie Tribe as befits the time-period and subject matter. However, you will not be asked to do anything that makes you uncomfortable. Many references to drug use, sexuality, race and politics are depicted in the play and music. Look over the show's song lyrics before submitting. Much of the material has a tongue-in-cheek humor, meant to provoke the status quo, encouraging awareness and change.
