This is a workshop production, produced by RATCO (Random Access Theatre Company), and will go up at The RAT NYC September 11th, 12, 13th, 2026

Seeking:
Dock Ellis (African American, Male Presenting, Mid to late 30s)
Seeking an actor to play former professional baseball player Dock Ellis. Preferably, we’re seeking someone tall, with an athletic build. They must be charming and charismatic, and able to command a room without raising their voice (but not be shy to do so when necessary), while also able to communicate deep, emotional sadness at the drop of a hat. General knowledge about the fundamentals of professional baseball is a plus, but not required.


Tentative rehearsal schedule is as follows (subject to change):
August 2nd or 9th - TBD, first read

Rehearsals:
August 17th 3pm-6pm
August 26th - 3pm-5pm
August 29th - 10am-1pm
August 30th - 10am-1pm
August 31st - 3pm-6pm
September 3rd - 3pm-6pm
Tech/Dress Rehearsals (may not be called for all hours):
September 8th - 10am-4pm
September 9th - 10am-4pm
September 10th - 10am-4pm

Performances:
September 11th, 12th, 13th at 7pm, call time tbd.
