2027 Shakespeare Live! Educational Tour and Artistic Fellowship
$500.00 – $500.00 per week
Seeking non-Equity actors for The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey’s (STNJ) 2027 Shakespeare LIVE! Artistic Fellowship. Shakespeare LIVE! is one of the largest Shakespeare touring programs for students K-12 in the Mid-Atlantic region. It is an ensemble of ten actors and one tour manager. Shakespeare LIVE! presents dynamic and visually imaginative productions of Shakespeare’s plays to students throughout NJ, PA, NY, CT, and the mid-East region with the aspiration of bringing live Shakespeare performances to as many young people as possible. A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Romeo and Juliet will tour from February 19th to May 1st, 2027, with a possible extension.
Rehearsals begin on January 14th, 2027. We are seeking actors with classical theatre training and experience, and who are positive team members. Past touring experience is a plus. Actors and the Tour Manager are responsible for the load-in and load-out of tour venues. Ideal candidates will have experience with stage combat and arts education as well. STNJ seeks to create an ensemble that is representative of the communities and students we serve. Actors of all ethnicities are highly encouraged to submit their materials for consideration.
Artistic Fellows receive a $500/week stipend, plus fully subsidized housing in Madison, NJ. Masterclasses and company member benefits are also provided.
After a review of submitted materials, callback material from the shows may be requested by video. This will be followed by an in-person callback in NYC, tentatively scheduled for late September/early October. We also intend to make a virtual callback option available as needed.
