Michael Elyanow is the author of over two dozen plays, screenplays and television scripts. Recent theatre productions include Lullaby at Theater Latte Da and Robyn Is Happy at B Street Theatre. His award-winning The Children was produced at Pillsbury House Theatre in Minneapolis, following its production at Boston Court in Pasadena, which received a GLAAD Award for Outstanding Production. A Lasting Mark, commissioned by Hartford Stage, was part of Manhattan Theatre Club’s 7@7 Series. The Idiot Box, Michael’s first play, received its world premiered at Chicago’s Naked Eye Theatre – and moved on to an extended, critically-acclaimed run at LA’s Open Fist Theatre. He’s written short plays for The 24 Hour Plays series – other shorts include Banging Ann Coulter, Game/Over and A Few More Dumb Propositions. Michael was a co-founder of the Writing for the Stage + Screen MFA program and co-chair of the Creative Writing for the Media program at Northwestern University. He's taught all kinds of writing courses at Columbia, Emerson, Hampshire and Carleton colleges.
