Karen Hensel is an American actress. Karen is perhaps best known for the recurring role of Doris Collins, the mother of Sharon Newman, on the American soap opera “The Young and the Restless.” She played Doris from 1994 to 2005, and returned to the show in 2009 to resume her role as Doris Collins. She has numerous television credits, which include guest starring in prime-time television, feature films, and several stage productions. When she is not acting, she is the Director of Conservatories at South Coast Repertory. She also teaches classical theater at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Karen attended The American College in Paris, UC Santa Barbara, and The American Academy of Dramatic Arts, where she majored in Theater Arts.
