Jack Sydow was a prolific American director. Broadway directing credits include ONCE UPON A MATTRESS (understudy and stage manager), SOPHIE, THE CRUCIBLE, ANNIE GET YOUR GUN (Tony Award – Best Director), THE IMAGINARY INVALID, A TOUCH OF THE POET, TONIGHT AT 8:30, and A TOUCH OF THE DEAF. He also directed the acclaimed production of a play he co-authored, THE BROTHERS KARAMAZOV (Obie Award), as well as MARY STUART, ELIZABETH THE QUEEN, and RING AROUND THE MOON, among dozens of others. Other writing credits include THE IDIOT. Sydow's acting credits include 'Frasier,' 'Touched by an Angel,' and 'Brothers and Sisters.' Sydow was the head of the University of Washington's directing program.
