George Middleton was an American playwright, director, and producer. He was famous for his plays THE FAILURES and ADAM AND EVA. From 1927 to 1929 he was president of the Dramatists Guild of America and was responsible for creating the Minimum Basic Agreement, which remains the basic text for determining theatrical royalties. In 1947, he published a well-reviewed memoir, “These Things are Mine.”
