Elsa Shelley was a prolific actor, director, and playwright. Broadway acting credits include VEILS (Nan), CARAVAN (Chiquita), SIGN OF THE LEOPARD (Millie), and COURTESAN (Alice Trevor). She then turned to writing, penning the Broadway plays PICK-UP GIRL (48th St. Theater, 1944), FOXHOLE IN THE PARLOR (Booth Theater, 1945), and WITH A SILK THREAD (Lyceum, 1950), which she also directed.
