Dick Berg made a name for himself as a screenwriter, producer, dialogue coach, and playwright. He is best known for his mini-series entitled “Space and Wallenberg: A Hero’s Story” and for the 1959 television detective drama "Johnny Staccato," starring John Cassavetes. Credited with launching the careers of Sydney Pollack and Mark Rydell, Berg was a major influence on Hollywood and is considered the leading pioneer of made-for-television movies.
