David Williamson is one of Australia’s best known playwrights. He has also developed screenplays for film and TV. His plays include DON’S PARTY, THE REMOVALISTS, THE CLUB, THE DEPARTMENT, TRAVELLING NORTH, THE PERFECTIONIST, SANCTUARY, EMERALD CITY, MONEY AND FRIENDS, BRILLIANT LIES, DEAD WHITE MALES, and UP FOR GRABS. He was instrumental in the founding of the Noosa Longweekend Festival, a cultural festival in Noosa, Queensland. He won the 1995 Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission Drama Award for his play SANCTUARY. His screenplays include “Gallipoli,” “Phar Lap,” “Duet of Four,” “Eliza Fraser,” and “The Four Minute Mile,” as well as the TV miniseries “A Dangerous Life.” Williamson lives on Queensland’s sunshine coast with his wife, Kristin.
