David’s play MOOSE MATING was produced Off-Off Broadway at HERE theatre in New York City in the summer of 1995 and was selected by "Back Stage" as a 1995 Critics’ Best Bet. MOOSE MATING is published by Dramatists Play Service. The play is represented by The Shukat Company, a literary management firm. David’s play TEETH was produced at the Boston Playwrights’ Theater in 1992. David has collaborated on the writing of plays seen in New York City at such venues as Theater for the New City, Manhattan Class Company, Thread Waxing Space, So Grand Studio and Dixon Place. He has directed plays in New York at HOME for Contemporary Theater and Art and CB’s 313 Gallery. David co-wrote "Go to Your Room," a children’s television pilot independently produced in New York. He has co-authored several screenplays. David is also a teacher of screenwriting, playwriting, and fiction writing. He is co-founder of Gotham Writers’ Workshop, New York’s biggest writing school, where he trains teachers to teach creative writing. He has also taught playwriting and fiction writing to undergraduates at Boston University and for Young Playwrights Inc., where he taught playwriting to New York City public high school students and has lectured for the New York City Board of Education on the teaching of playwriting. David received his B.A. from Brandeis University with Highest Honors in Creative Writing. He holds a Master of Arts from Boston University’s Creative Writing Program in Playwriting and Fiction Writing.
