Carissa Atallah is a playwright from Southern California. Her titles include Brown Face, winner of The Harold and Mimi Steinberg National Student Playwriting Award presented by the Kennedy Center, and Voir Dire, winner of the 45th Annual Samuel French Off Off Broadway Short Play Festival. Other recent accolades include honorable mention in the Bay Area Playwrights Festival, finalist in the Gary Garrison National Ten Minute Play Award, distinguished achievement for The Cohen Playwriting Award, and semi-finalist for the Future of Playwriting Prize. Her work has appeared in collaboration with Playwrights’ Arena, Pixel Playhouse, Rogue Artists Ensemble, the University of California, and the Bay Area Children’s Theatre. She earned a Master of Fine Arts degree in playwriting in 2020 from the University of California, Riverside.
