Camille Harris is a composer, performer, author and playwright born in Boulder, CO and based in Brooklyn, NY. A professional jazz musician and singer-songwriter and former stand-up comedian, she brings a strong musical sensibility to her writing, creating stories that are emotionally grounded and funny. Camille developed her craft through extensive performance and training, including her time at New Dramatists in the Composer-Librettist Studio, where she collaborated as both an actor and singer. She has performed new work in a range of interdisciplinary and site-specific settings, at the Whitney Museum where she worked with Sibyl Kempson, The Dramatists Guild Foundation, The Center for Ballet and the Arts at NYU, The Bruno Walter Auditorium at Lincoln Center and many downtown venues. Her original musical Muffin Man was featured in the NYC Fringe Festival in 2009, is published by Concord Theatricals, and has been performed by high schools around the country. Camille was featured in the DailyMotion showcase at SXSW 2014 and performed at CMJ 2014. Her one-woman show, Camille! Young! Silly!, has played many venues throughout the New York City area and was part of Ars Nova Theater’s ANT Fest. She recently completed her Master of Arts in Digital Music Technology at BerkleeNYC specializing in Songwriting and Production and has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theater from Emerson College.
