Bill Hare is an accomplished author/playwright/screenwriter/director. He began his career in the 1960s at an advertising agency, Leo Brunett. His first art house feature, FINNEY, received rave reviews from Siskel and Ebert. Next, Hare’s play GOD SAYS THERE IS NO PETER OTT debuted in New York under the direction of Clive Barnes. Hare moved to screenwriting after his stage debut, penning the scripts to “Robber Baron Bliss,” “Super Geek,” and “Warhorse.” Non-fiction credits include “Celebration of Fools” (2004), a history of the rise and near-collapse of JCPenney, and “Remarkable Company,” about the cast members of his play.
