THE OTHER’S Theatre Project is seeking Equity and non-Equity actors for the New York premiere of Outside the Game: A File for the Reconstruction of the Heberto Padilla Case, presented under the Actors’ Equity Showcase Code at IATI Theater.
Inspired by the Padilla Affair, the play explores censorship, exile, memory, and the cost of artistic freedom in revolutionary Cuba.
Rehearsals: October 21 – November 3, 2026

Seeking:
HEBERTO PADILLA – Latino, male-presenting, 30s–50s. A celebrated Cuban poet. Brilliant, ironic, charismatic, and deeply conflicted. Strong dramatic range required.
BELKIS – Latina, female-presenting, 30s–50s. Poet, writer, and Padilla’s wife. Intelligent, resilient, compassionate, and quietly fearless.
Their dedicated COMRADE – Latino, male-presenting, 30s–60s. A devoted servant of the Revolution. Calm, disciplined, and quietly intimidating.
