Snow White and the Seven Million Followers will run off-broadway from October 15th thru 18th at AMT Theater (354 West 45th Street). Rehearsals will take place on weeknights and weekends starting mid-September, with tech week being all day beginning October 12th. All actors will receive a stipend of $1300 for their participation.
In order to submit, please share a headshot + resume and link(s) to your audition video(s)—this can be song cuts, reels, monologues, scenework, or anything that will help the team get a sense of who you are and how you could fit into the show. Comedy is strongly encouraged. Please be sure that at least one of your tapes (if submitting multiple) contains singing. Submissions are open to both non-union and union actors (thru AEA showcase code).
Callbacks to take place by invitation in early August, including a brief dance/movement call.
SYNOPSIS
In the not-so-distant future, AI has decimated the creator economy. With old social media platforms being overrun by AI-generated content and ad revenue in free fall, the New Platform arrives on the scene. Launched by organic energy drink company RealiTea, the New Platform dangles a lifeline before the world's desperate influencers, promising them a space where real people can still make a living doing what they know best: influencing. In the race to reach 7 million followers and achieve the coveted "ImmortaliTea" status, Snow, Beau, and Queen find themselves questioning the New Platform's authenticity, and uncover the seedy underbelly of RealiTea. Snow White and the Seven Million Followers is a darkly funny, high-octane commentary on AI manipulation, the influencer industry, and the unsettling possibility that in a world where everything might be fake, the most dangerous lies are the ones we most desperately want to believe.
CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS
QUEEN (20s-40s, F) Formerly "the fairest of them all," Queen is a has-been influencer in financial straits, fighting to remain relevant in this new social media environment. Alto belter (F3-D5) with jazz and musical theatre vocal styles.
SNOW (20s-30s, F) Young holistic health influencer, one of those Gen Z princesses that grew up with a silver screen in her hand. Mezzo soprano (G3-F5) with traditional musical theatre vocal style.
BEAU (20s-30s, M) Young holistic fitness influencer. A serial seducer who has never quite made it on his own, but he’s managed to eke out a modicum of fame just by attaching himself to known acts. Tenor (B2-G#4) with rock and musical theatre vocal styles.
WALTER FAMPINO (20s-40s, M) RealiTea's charismatic lead influencer and the face of the New Platform. Baritone (G#2-F4) with rock, EDM, and musical theatre vocal styles.
