Casting Muscle Memory - Staged Reading looking for Actor

West End House is excited to be sending out a casting call for the staged reading of Muscle Memory, a new, one-act play by Mars Oliver-Martinez. Muscle Memory is a new one-act play that follows injury, sisterhood, recovery, and what it means to have your passion intertwined with your core identity. The reading will take place at West End House (105 Allston St, Boston, MA 02134) on October 23rd. Submissions will open on July 27th and are due on August 10th at 9:30 pm. Actors will be paid a $150 stipend via Visa Gift Card for their participation.
We are currently seeking Non-Union actors of any race/ethnicity for the following role:
SAGE. F. 18. Allegra’s older sister, a painter who has absorbed the emotional bandwidth of Allegra’s crisis. (open to actors aged 17-early 20s who can believably play 18 and are comfortable playing a female-identifying role)
Roles already cast include:
ALLEGRA. F. 14. Former piano prodigy whose identity has been subsumed by her instrument.
Content Warning: This play contains themes of self-harm and mental health recovery.
Actors will be needed for the following dates:
Table Read: September 12th, 6-9 pm.
Staged Reading: October 23rd, 4:30-8:30 pm.
Rehearsals between these dates will be decided after casting based on availability.
We want to emphasize that no prior acting experience is required. We welcome submissions from first-time performers and those who are new to theatre, as well as more experienced actors. Actors with lived experiences or connections to the world of the play are strongly encouraged to submit.
