Casting for 1-night concert of a new musical: Fetching Water

What happens when Jack and Jill meet Dick and Jane? All HILL breaks loose.

We are casting a one-night, 45-minute concert of songs from Fetching Water as part of the New Musical Theatre Nashville's First Stage Event. Both characters will be singing mulitple songs so strong vocals are the top priority. The score is a contemporary musical theatre score and we are specifically looking for musical theatre voices aka, Alan Menken, Stephen Sondheim, Stephen Schwartz.

SEEKING:

DICK
Early to mid 30's. Strong Baritone. Tall, handsome, a little cocky, but underneath he lacks a little confidence. Even though he’s Jane’s older brother, he tends to let her boss him around. Despite their arguing, he loves his sister and tries to do the right thing by her, until he’s pushed too far. Excellent comic timing a must. Principle role.

JANE

Early to mid 30's. Strong high contemporary belt—The brains of Dick and Jane. She is smart, quick witted and always plotting something. Enjoys being the center of attention, but underneath lies a deep vulnerability of a woman who just wants to be loved. Even though she pretends her older brother is annoying, she knows she needs him.
Excellent comic timing a must. Principle role.

DATES:
Concert September 12 at 7 p.m. with a required sound check at 3 p.m.
Rehearsals will take place Sept 8-11
