Engagement 1 August 2026 – 24 November 2026
Seeking an actor to play Harr’ in Broom Play, a new one-act tragicomedy.
HARR’ is an older, gruff janitor. He speaks in a distinctive dialect, but its precise origin is open to interpretation — the text may suggest Appalachian, Irish, Southern.
This is a demanding role requiring strong comedic and dramatic instincts, improvisation, clowning, and physical performance. Over the course of the play, Harr’ and the other central character gradually begin to exchange dialects.
The tonal world of the production combines elements of Waiting for Godot, Rhinoceros, and The Lighthouse.
Union Status: Non-Union
Compensation: $1,200 stipend
Rehearsals are currently planned in two blocks: one in August and another in October.
Performances will run November 3–24 at Players Theater.
