Sweet Charity, based on Federico Fellini's screenplay for Nights of Cabiria, was directed and choreographed by Bob Fosse, with music by Cy Coleman, lyrics by Dorothy Fields, and book by Neil Simon.

It opened on Broadway January 29, 1966, and was nominated for 12 Tony Awards.

It's since gone on to many more performances around the world including multiple Broadway revivals.
