Raine, unable to respond emotionally when her mother dies, finds herself at this group home, in a community that has little tolerance for its newest residents.
The ensuing battle--over whether the group home stays or not--allows Raine to re-awaken her emotions through rage, and a political will she didn't know existed in her.
