Jack and the Beanstalk
William Glennon
This simplified version of the classic story is told with the author's gift for wit, adventure and warmth.
Jack is a boy in search of adventure, but he can only find it in his books.
Jack unwittingly goes on a real-life adventure of his own in search of a gold coin payment for his nemesis, Dame Isobel.
The fairy godfather and his assistant, Junior (who is in training to be a full-fledged fairy godfather), provide warm humor while Dame Isobel, the Giant and the Giant's Wife provide obstacles for Jack to surmount.
The play concludes in a fairy tale happy ending with the help of the Harp Unit set.
