We are seeking an experienced Deputy Head of Video to join the production on its UK Tour.
Start Date: September 2026
Contract Length: 18 Months
Salary: Buyout/Competitive
Duties and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to)
- Act as HOD for the video departments in the absence of the HOD.
- Assist with the Video Load-in/load-out during the venue moves.
- Troubleshoot and rectify any issues as efficiently as possible to make sure the performances run as planned.
- Work alongside the stage management, company management, sound, venue and technical teams daily.
- Communicate in detail and collaborate with other departments at all times.
- Keep all Video paperwork up to date and accurate, and generate any new paperwork as and when changes are made.
- Attend production meetings as and when required.
- Take a lead on daily maintenance during show calls with the Head of Video.
- Take a lead and organise all preventative maintenance calls as regularly as the management team sees fit.
- Work alongside the tour's production electrician to ensure all is running smoothly.
- Re-adjust video fixtures when needed.
- Ensure that security, safety and good housekeeping procedures for the department are properly carried out.
- Take on rigorous pre-show rig checks and ensure all fixtures are in good working order.
- Ensure all video equipment is in good working order at all times.
- Attend rehearsal, technical, dress and understudy rehearsals as required.
- Take on any other duties reasonably asked of a Deputy Head of Video.
- Any other duties as may be reasonably required in the course of your duties or as instructed by the Video Designers, Company Manager, Production Manager, General Managers or Producer from time to time.
- Assisting the department with Load-in and Load-out duties
Person Specification
- Previous Deputy/Assistant experience in a large-scale production is essential
- Strong practical experience with rigging, focusing, and maintaining large-scale lighting rigs and video systems.
- Confidence working at height, including on grids, ladders, access equipment, and stage structures.
- Experience in fault-finding and repairing complex lighting
- The ability to work as part of a large team
- Good communication skills
