Hansel and Gretel
William Glennon
In this story of Hansel and Gretel the white bird and the little gnome, under the spell of the wicked Witch, are forced to coax children away so that the wicked Witch can eat them.
When the children's father returns home without food or money the whole family goes berry picking.
The children become lost in the woods, and the white bird and the gnome put them to sleep until the Witch comes.
Once in the Witch's house the children, after a number of unsuccessful attempts, finally manage to trap the Witch in her own oven.
