Technical Director (m/f/d)

YOUR ROLE

1. Technical Responsibility

- Ensuring the smooth technical operation of the entire production.

- Coordinating between all technical and production departments, including Lighting, Sound, Set, Backline, Costume, Hair & Make-up, and

Stage Management.

2. Project Management

- Planning and coordinating the technical implementation of the production in each city in consultation with the respective venues and the

responsible Project Manager.

- Overall project responsibility and coordination of the Stage, Sound, Lighting, Set, Backline, Costume, and Hair & Make-up departments.

3. Communication

- Acting as the main point of contact between Company Management, the technical production crew, venues, public authorities, and suppliers.

- Ensuring clear and effective communication between all parties involved.

4. Personnel Management

- Responsibility for the technical touring personnel on tour, including coordination during load-in, and load-out of the production.

- Prepare daily work schedules and timelines for the respecitve departments.

- Assigning and supervising local stagehands in coordination with the indiviual departments.

5. Technical Support

- Coordinate and ensure the maintenance and servicing of technical equipment throughout the tour.

- Supporting the assessment, planning, and implementation of the technical requirements for the entire production.

6. Logistics & Reordering

- Organizing and recording consumables, and replacement equipment required for the entire production.

7. Documentation

- Monitor and maintain temporary records of the working hours of all crew members for tracking and invoicing purposes.

- Post and monitor a daily sign-in sheet for technical staff.

- Collect and verify monthly timesheets and submit them to the relevant accounting department.

8. Safety Briefing

- Conduct safety briefings for the technical team.

- Document all completed safety briefings.

YOUR SKILLS

• Minimum age of 30 or proven several years of professional experience in touring productions.

• Completed training or degree in event technology, media production, or a related field

• Qualification as a certified master for event technology (VAT)

• Several years of experience in a similar position, ideally in live events or musicals, theater, and/or touring

• Very good skills in technical drawing software (cad, vwx)

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Ability to work under pressure and solve problems quickly

• Team-oriented mindset and leadership qualities

• Good general understanding of technical aspects and production processes

• Flexible working hours and schedules

• Strong team player

• Excellent communication skills and fluency in German and English
